DCC Cares is dedicated to lifting up individuals and families through education, support, and partnerships that create pathways to independence.
DCC Cares is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals and families in the greater Doylestown area through philanthropic initiatives supported by Doylestown Country Club. Our mission is to foster community well-being by providing financial aid, promoting education, and supporting local charities. We strive to create a lasting positive impact through collaboration and generosity, embodying the values of compassion, service, and commitment to our community’s growth and success.
Organized charitable efforts trace back to “Creative Day” which was started by the women of DCC over 30 years ago. In the early 1990s, the women golfers gathered with the idea of members bringing a craft they had made. These were judged and then offered for sale, with the proceeds going to charity. A Woman’s Place was the first organization to be supported and later, the Doylestown YMCA. After a member’s husband died of cancer, Charity Day started supporting the Cancer Program at Doylestown Hospital.
So began Charity Day as we know it today, benefiting the Cancer Institute at Doylestown Hospital. The women of Doylestown Country Club, golfers, bridge players, community members and guests now gather each year for golf, bridge and lunch accompanied by silent auctions of gift baskets made by the Women Foursomes and numerous community donations. Over the past 25 years, more than $265,000 has been raised for Doylestown Hospital, including infusion rooms with tributes to the women of DCC on the atrium wall.
What began in 2001 has blossomed into a larger philanthropic commitment to our community. The first annual memorial charity dinner took place in June 2024, the success of which led to DCC Cares being established in April 2025 as a 501(c)(3) charity. Starting in 2026, June has been designated as Charity Month.
